My holiday decorating is all done....is yours? Have you gotten started yet? I think most people out there have. I usually wait until mid-December to start, but this year I decided that I wanted to put up the tree and decorate early...so that I can just relax and focus on the things that are really important....
Here's our little Christmas City...
And here's our Christmas Tree...
Oh and here's our beloved Rocky....I have to tell you that He helped with the tree, as always...gotta give credit here where credit is due ya know.... and he's tuckered out...he told me that he was not posing for any pictures this year for me to post on my blog, but after he saw these....he did give me persmission to post these and to tell you all how he'd helped and show you how tired he was after all that work :)
See?
He didn't help me with the curio cabinet though...I put all of the vintage Christmas stuff in there all by myself....
Most every single thing inside here came to me over the years from yard sale shopping....that's just too fun ain't it?

A Very Merry Christmas from our Home To Yours everybody.....I wanted to share something with you...
To me, Jesus is the reason for the season, not Santa Claus, but I do love Santa and PLEASE KEEP READING, because I wanted to share the SWEETEST article that I found ABOUT SANTA a couple of years ago and IT WAS THE TRUE STORY BEHIND THE LEGEND OF St. Nicholas, "Santa Claus" After reading this article you may just give yourself permission to love the jolly old guy, just like when you were a kid.
My heart was so touched to find out about this history and to find out more about this person, that I never really knew, but who had been such a vivid part of my Christmas childhood memories ... and after reading the article, I will never see Santa in the same light again. Besides Santa is cute ain't he? I created a page to share that story that I'm talking about, with you and I have a link HERE so that you can go and read it for yourself if you would like to.
It's not that long of a story and it really is worth reading, especially if you have secretly said to yourself during the holidays, "I am so tired of seeing Santas everywhere, and where did this ever come from anyway, because it has nothing to do with Christmas" I've heard it said a lot, just while out and about.... and I think we've all at some point and time, thought or said the same thing or heard it said. This story will likely change your mind about the way you see him.....maybe even take away the commercialization of him a little bit.... and make you think of Santa in a whole different way. That would be great wouldn't it? Especially since you'll likely be seeing a lot of him this holiday season out and about everywhere....I'm not sayin' we should worship him, or anything, but maybe we'll just think of him with a smile and remember him the way that I think he would have wanted to be remembered. After all, St. Nick loved Christ greatly and even went to prison because of his faith. I just wanted to share this story and my link with you all, because reading this story did bless me and my family and my hopes is that it would bless you and yours too.
Merry Christmas Everybody...
God Bless Us All!
Big hugs,
Queenie

Thanks so much for sharing that article... I really enjoyed reading it.. It really does make you look at Jolly old St. Nick differently!! Enjoyed your pictures!!
My cats love to sleep under the tree, I wonder if it is the warmth from the lights. Your christmas village looks so magical.
Very pretty decorations. Your tree is breathtaking. Santa will enjoy stopping at your house.
Your decorations and tree are absolutely divine. Love the little village. I have always wanted one, but this old 110 year old farm house is so chopped up we just do not have a place for one. Kitty is so sweet. This is one of those warm and fuzzy posts that puts a smile on the tired old face. You have a lovely collection of holiday things. I know your house looks beautiful. genie
Thanks for visiting us. We don't celebrate Christmas but your decorations look cute. Maybe Au, Target and Guido would like a tree but they're hard to get in the tropics!
Hi Queenie,
your Rocky is the cutest, most fluffy teddy I ever saw. What supercute photos. He enjoys all your pretty Christmas decoration.
Best greetings, Johanna
Merry Christmas Queenie :)
Your tree is Beautiful!!! I love red for Christmas and miss it a little on mine. Your home looks lovely! Kitty kat looks happy!
I think I've read that story before after reading it again. Doing for others is what Jesus wants after we accept Him into our life!
Thank you for the sweet comment about my mantle!
I'm almost done with shopping. Just a few little things for "stockings".
I want to enjoy the season too!
Warmly,
deb
Oh Queenie, I love it all. Your treasured collections are amazing. I saw some red flocked vintage deer yesterday and do you know how much the seller was asking for them? Lots! And your tree.....pure perfection and your kitty stole my heart. :) xo
Oh my gosh, everything is beautiful - but especially Rocky! lol I love your Christmas village...so fun! Thanks for sharing.
Hugs, Cindy
Christmas villages are always so much fun and make you feel a child again. Your little "elf" Rocky is so sweet. Poor thing all tuckered out from all that decorating. It looks like Christmas has arrived at your house.
I love little Christmas cities--and yours is so colorful!
A DAY WITHOUT SCARLET
A day without scarlet, they say,
Can color the soul ashen-grey;
For if there’s no red,
The soul feels half-dead,
And has no incentive to play.

Love it all, the Village, the Tree, the Kitty, and the Vintage! Funny that you put your Santa story on here. I had to tell God the other day, how sorry I was that I love the Santa image so much, because I know what Christmas is and is not about. Although I love Santa I also love the REAL part of Christmas! Thanks for sharing the story, I haven't read it yet, but hope that it will help clear up the old noggin a little bit! Merry Christmas!
Very beautiful decoration !! I decorated our house yesterday, but the cats were not interested at all in Father Christmases and angels etc, lol ! Not even the balls were interesting.
Good job, Rocky! He is a gorgeous kitty; I love long-haired cats.
Your decorations are so pretty and festive! It's great to have it all done and be able to enjoy the rest of your holiday... Everything is beautiful! I also enjoyed reading your post about Santa...Thank you so much for sharing it! You're right, I'll never see Santa the same way again.
This was a great post!
Oh Rocky! What a cute little stretch! Thank you for helping Queenie with her decorating! It's all very pretty!
I'm doing a little decorating every day. My new kitty already broke one decoration so... we'll see how much I do! ♥
My mom hasn´t started decorating yet , but I guess it won´t be long ;-)
Rocky you look really worned out after helping your mom with the christmas tree !!
Your decorations are cute - but Rocky is wonderful. What a beautiful cat. Great idea using the curio to display the vintage Christmas... may have to borrow that. Happy Thursday.
Beautiful finds... but your poor overworked cat, poor mite! ;O)))
Your little village is delightful and your tree is stunning. You did a great job and I commend you for getting it all done so you can enjoy the true meaning of Christmas. I'm finishing up today so I can join you in celebrating the birth of our Savior. I hope to pop over to your story about Santa. Lovely post!
Lynn
Beautiful and magical; just like you. Thanks for touching my heart and have a great weekend.
Hi Queenie,
Rocky did a great job on your tree. Poor little tuckered out kitty. He's so cute! Wish I had a Rocky to help me. Love your vintage treasures. I did know the legend of Santa and I love it. I have always loved Santa and always will. Yes, Christ is the center of Christmas; but a jolly old elf can't hurt. Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog. Now a new follower.
Your Christmas city is exquisite. So well designed and the lighting really enhances. Congratulations on being done with your decorating! Thanks for visiting.
I'm totally smitten with your Christmas village and Rocky is just too sweet. What a lovely story about Santa. I'm behind on holiday decor with all our "life" right now, but I'm enjoying everyone else's special decorations and traditions.
What darling treasures...am loving that you found most at yard sales...and the kitty cat melts my heart...:)
That is so unlike how the kitties help with decorating here. Ours are wonderful about helping take things down though.
You have beautiful Christmas things and gave me so many wonderful memories.
Oh that Rocky cracks me up! Your tree is fabulous, my kinda tree, I love traditional, yeah, except for the Martha table in aqua for which I thank you so much for your lovely and generous comments. I love C'mas villages, I had a not so big one and now my daughter has it with lots of new additions. Thanks for sharing the story of Santa, I haven't heard it since I was young. Have a super weekend sweet lady. FABBY

All of your Christmas decorations look cheerful and wonderful! And Rocky is cracking me up! I love to watch cats they are just so much fun! Thank you for joining TTF and have a great day!
What a sweetie Rocky is to help you! The decorations look great!
I just love your Christmas City. I was just over at another friend's blog, and she shared her Christmas Village...how funny. Yours is so magical. I have always wanted to get all the pieces to a village. You know what? I used to have the same curio cavinet in my hallway. The glass on it broke, so I gave it away. How I miss it though. I enjoyed looking at all the decorations you put in there. I hope you are enjoying the season as much as I am.

I've missed you dearly and I have been a long time fan of that Christmas village of yours. Its amazing....I adore those tiny rain deer. =) Everything looks beautiful. I hung my treasured stocking ornaments ( made by you ) on our little tree....and although I haven't been around I still consider you a most cherished friend.
